We have a small and loyal team, and a small and busy pub. It’s rare there are more than two people working at any one time (you’ll understand when you see the bar), so a willingness to do whatever’s needed is important.
There are no TVs, no background music, no fruit machines or jukeboxes — we’re a friendly, chatty, conversation-filled pub, and the staff are a big part of that. In otherwords, an outgoing, friendly personality is high-up on our list of criteria.
A few things to consider first:
- We’re a wet pub — we don’t serve food — so we only employ bartenders and cleaners; no pot washers, waiters, chefs or similar
- We only employ over-18s
- We don’t mind training people who have never worked in a bar before — attitude and personality is of greater importance; that being said we will sometimes be looking for a member of staff who can start immediately in which case we will prioritise experience
