Gluten-Free Beer & the ‘Interesting’ LineGluten-free beer is increasingly popular among both breweries and customers. There’s no difference in taste, just an enzyme treatment during fermentation which breaks down the gluten proteins. More details, and our current offering, available here. We’ve also added a sixth line on the bar, for beers which don’t quite fit into our bitter / porter & stout / pale / gluten free / mild categories, such as North Cotswold’s copper Shakespeare IPA, or Schwarz Clipper from Pennine Brewery, a slightly confusing but very interesting dark IPA. or Uley’s Crossbreed collaboration with Charles Faram experimental hops. Dogs at The Red LionWe welcome dogs, but ask that our canine friends follow some simple guidelines, thank you. If they can’t read, please pass on the message for us. Medieval Markets & Atmospheric ArtIt’s the Battle of Evesham’s Medieval Market on the weekend of 16th & 17th May, and we’ve teamed-up with one of our favourite artists, Hannah Wheeler, to put on an exhibition. Hannah creates intense, atmospheric, and playful oil paintings, a couple of which already grace the pub’s walls. Take a look Building NewsIn case you weren’t aware, the opportunity to buy the building fell through, largely due to the funding opportunity being withdrawn during the last general election. However, we have a decent-length lease, and an excellent relationship with the building owners who have recently applied for planning permission to restore the front of the pub to its former 19th-century glory. The future is positive. As always, do let me know any suggestions, feedback etc. about the pub and everything we’re doing (or not doing). I’ll also get back into better habits around keeping you up-to-date. Hopefully see you soon. Cheers, Tom
