Pub News

The Red Lion @ Wallace House

We love the pub, but sometimes there’s just not quite enough space to do everything we want. With that in mind we’ve agreed to take over Wallace House on the last Saturday evening of each month (excluding December, because, frankly, there’s enough going on then…) to put on a varied and exciting range of gigs. February Quiz & Curry: Evesham Dementia Action Alliance

The EDAA campaigns to create a dementia-friendly community in Evesham and across the Vale. They help raise awareness of people who are living with dementia, and their carers, and provide support and training for businesses, community organisations, and carers. The February quizzers raised a fantastic £445 to help their cause.

January Quiz & Curry: Roundabout, Evesham

In memory of Pete Hodge, 1949–2025

We were honoured to say a few words at Pete’s funeral on Tuesday 6th January, 2026. These are not just my thoughts and memories, but I’m speaking on behalf of the many customers, musicians, and staff at The Red Lion, whose lives have all been positively impacted — in some cases utterly transformed — by In memory of Pete Hodge, 1949–2025

The Original Welsh Border Morris Men — December 2025

Every year, on the last Saturday before Christmas, there’s a day of enthusiastic chaos when The Original Welsh Border Morris Men come together for a single tour (and one ale-influenced rehearsal). This year they danced through Sinton Green, White Ladies Aston, Pershore, Evesham, Upton-upon-Severn, Worcester, and then back to Sinton Green to, presumably, fall asleep. New! Put a drink in

If you’d like to put a drink (or several) in for someone at the pub, type the amount you’d like to spend into the form below and pay online. Please use a full name or a good description for the recipient — “John” isn’t very useful, as we have a lot of them!

Pete Hodge

We’re utterly, utterly, devastated to share the news that Pete Hodge, musician and artist, has died. He was a true part of the fabric of the pub, always enthusiastic about music and musicians, and always supportive of emerging talent. He played regularly in The Red Lion, released numerous albums, painted many wonderful watercolours, and always Pete Hodge

Expansion next door

We’re — finally — a little bit bigger here at The Red Lion. After a long time, and some very stroppy emails, we’re incredibly excited to open up 6A, properly and permanently. Huge thanks to everyone who has helped us get here; hopefully it’ll reduce the squeeze a little during busy times. And there’s another Expansion next door
