Small Beer

We’re adding a seventh cask ale to our range as a bit of an experiment… Small beer, or table beer, was popular back in the 18th and 19th centuries, as an everyday drink (it gradually got replaced by tea, for shame).

The Small Beer Brew Co. are the world’s first dedicated small beer brewery, with bespoke kit designed specifically to brew beers up to 2.8% — so there’s no need for any alcohol removal.

Our first offering is their Pale, a 2.5% juicy, citrus, smooth blonde beer, and it’s on the bar now. We’re really impressed with its taste and depth, well worth a try if you fancy a lighter pint: big on flavour, light on consequences!

It sits nicely as a balance between the increasing-popular alcohol-free options and the stronger beers you’re more used to seeing.
