Drink Type: Best Bitter

Rude Best

Moreish, traditional bitter with a delicate balance of hoppy bitterness and malty backbone.

Crossbreed (Collaboration)

A remake from 2025, but this year using Charles Faram’s experimental hop CF277 for a beer with hints of orange, spice and floral overtones.

Jouster

A well balanced all English hopped best bitter with a gentle hoppy aroma and a malty finish. Also the first proper beer Tom tried back in the nineties, which is why all this is happening now.

Red Hill

Our homage to the traditional English Ale. Amber in colour, the sweetness from the select quality malts lead to a beautiful balance of choice hops of time gone by, that give a rich and moreish flavour with pine, sweet fruit, berry and smooth spice aroma.

Cheeky Swine

A full flavoured and hoppy palate balanced by underlying fruit. Smooth, long and very refreshing.

Pistols in the Snow

Pistols In The Snow is made with a generous amount of Crystal malt and hopped with extra Bramling Cross hops. The result is a not-so-dark cold weather beer with enough malt to make it warming and enough hops to make it fun!

Beira

An amber winter ale. With balanced biscuity malt flavours from pale, amber, cara and brown malt, and spicy hop aromas.

Uley Bitter

Permanently available at The Red Lion. Amber in colour this beer has hops and fruits in the aroma which combines with maltiness on the tongue to give a bitter, dry finish. CAMRA’s SW Region Champion 2013 Bitter.

Butcombe Original

Bristol born and made to stand out. Created from Maris Otter malt and a secret blend of English hops. Meticulously crafted before ‘craft’ was even a thing. Its distinctive bitter, clean and refreshing flavour has been Bristol?s go-to for good times since the 1970s. “The beer that changed everything! The first brew we perfected, the Butcombe Original

Avon Best

Caramel malts and English bittering hops. Very sessionable.
