Our Pale Ale is brewed for the kind of evening when you want something with character but without the heaviness — fruity and crisp on the front palate, light-bodied through the middle, and finishing clean with a gentle hop bite. Brewed in Chadlington with pure Oxfordshire spring water and the finest English hops and malts.
Using the finest Maris Otter malting barley from Adam’s own land and aromatic Fuggles hops, delicious fruity Cascade and Amarillo hops and of course, purest Mendip Spring Water, Rare Breed is a distinctive, clean tasting Pale Ale with a smooth, citrus twist.
Cotswold Ram, an extension of Butcombe’s collaboration with Adam Henson, honours “The Cotswold Lion”, another one of Adam’s conserved rare breeds. This 5.4% Extra Pale Ale boasts a robust golden hue, with British malts offering a light biscuity flavour and a blend of Target and Celeia hops providing floral, citrus, and cedar hints.
Cascade leads the line with plenty of citrus and floral notes, tropical mango notes underpin, but they’re not telling us what else is in it!

An out of this world pale exploring a new frontier of British hops. Brewed with new CF321 hops it’s mission accomplished for a voyage of easy drinking refreshing lime notes that showcase the ascent of British hops.
Light, citrus, balanced. This pale has plenty of citrus flavours and a balanced bitterness. Easy drinking with an abv perfect for a couple of pints.

A malty and smooth, full flavoured, well balanced pale ale, Haka transports you to lush landscapes as tropical hop notes of passion fruit, mango and citrus entice the senses, giving way to a unique grapefruit sharpness.
Pale beer with a distinct sweetness and underlying hints of citrus and a fruity aroma. This beer was brewed to commemorate the Severn Valley Railway’s Golden Jubilee year in 2015. It was so well received we have decided to add it to our range.
